Throughout the Recruiter's Perspective season, I've mentioned agency recruiters and a few of my guests have had a background in agency recruiting that they have openly shared. For this episode, I was connected with an agency recruiter who specializes in recruiting leadership talent for supply chain organizations.

A self-described growth advisor, Adrian Chapman of Cover 3 Consulting has nothing to hide in this interview. Not only does he give encouraging tips for your résumé and interview process, but he also shares the strategies he uses to source candidates. I can tell you this, his methods have nothing to do with ATS. If your job search strategy only includes applying online, you're missing out on a lot of opportunities.

Another conversation we had worth mentioning pertains to remote work. In the supply chain industry, remote work is very difficult to offer given the type of work most employees do. Even the business functions of the organization are required to be present to manage various aspects of the business at hand. This is a great reminder for those seeking remote work to consider the type of organization and whether or not it is feasible for them to offer that type of job. It doesn't mean the organization can't offer schedule flexibility or other perks, but fully remote work might not be an option.

Given the significant focus on networking to obtain the appropriate referrals for an agency, Adrian and I spend a good amount of time talking about networking strategies. As an introvert, I was able to offer some of the go-to networking strategies that I have used and I have coached my introverted clients to use to be more at ease while networking in person.
